If you’ve been following along, you might remember my Twisted Star – Version 1, the 8” block with a partial seam. It’s a beautiful block… but I know partial seams can feel a little intimidating (even though they’re not that scary once you try 😉). So today, I made something just for you—
Twisted Star – Version 2 Bigger, simpler, and beginner-friendly.

What’s New in Version 2?
No partial seams Everything is sewn in straight rows—nice and simple.
Larger size – 12” finished block Perfect if you want a bold statement block or faster quilt assembly.
Same twisted lookYou still get that dynamic, spinning effect—just with easier construction.
Why You’ll Love This Version
Great for confident beginners
Perfect for quick projects
Easy to turn into table runners, cushions, or full quilts
Project Ideas
This 12” block opens up so many possibilities:
A quick table runner (just 3 blocks already look stunning!)
A cushion cover with bold contrast
A baby quilt with fewer blocks needed

Final Thoughts
I really enjoyed redesigning this block into something simpler without losing its character. It still has that beautiful “twist” movement—but now it’s more accessible and faster to make.
If you’ve tried Version 1 before, I think you’ll find this one much more relaxing. And if this is your first time—this is a great place to start.
