Updated: Apr 25

Nothing says cheerful like a garden full of blooms — and this quilt brings that garden right to your sewing room! Introducing the Coneflower Quilt, a playful patchwork of petals, stems, and vibrant color that’s sure to brighten any space. Inspired by the charm of blooming coneflowers, this quilt is a celebration of simple shapes, scrap-friendly sewing, and the joy of watching your "flowers" grow block by block.

Each block blossoms with its own personality, and the final quilt layout creates a happy field of flowers that will never wilt!

Whether you're a seasoned quilter or just starting to explore floral blocks, this project is fun to piece and perfect for using those treasured floral fabrics you've been saving. You’ll also use the stitch-and-flip technique throughout—if you’d like tips for getting clean snowball corners with this method, check out the tutorial here.

🌿 Tips for a Smooth Stitching Journey:

Chain-piece whenever possible – especially the stems and leaves – to speed things up.

Use contrast between petals and centers for each block to make your flowers pop.

Pre-cut all your pieces before starting to keep your workflow relaxing and fun.

Press after each seam, open or to the side consistently for flatter blocks and easy matching.

Audition your layout before sewing the rows — mix and match flower colors to balance the overall look.
